A Midsummer party goes gloriously off the rails when a smooth-talking outsider shows up to the party. As egos flare and alliances crumble, one thing becomes clear: this celebration isn’t big enough for all of them.

King of the Hill is a mockumentary in which, through a handheld camera, we follow a Midsummer celebration that spirals out of control not unlike a modern Shakespearean tragedy. Set against the backdrop of the Swedish archipelago, we follow eleven party guests who become entangled in the group’s increasingly absurd power games.

Siri and Thelma have been best friends for as long as they can remember. They do everything together, and their hot summer is spent lazing on the beach, at house parties that never seem to end, and always together. But a seemingly carefree time is edged with uncertainty when Siri meets the older Lukas. The friends are forced to confront feelings and desires they previously kept secret when they suddenly find themselves entangled in an emotional whirlwind of envy and longing.

Cherries is a story about friendship and the naivety of youth, the complexities and desires of love, and being forced to let go of what once was.
